Dr. Audrey Arona - Georgia OBGYN Physician and Public Health Leader

Possessing extensive experience as an OBGYN physician, Dr. Audrey Arona most recently guided GNR Public Health as CEO, chief medical officer, and medical and health director. She oversaw Georgia’s largest public health district, spanning Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale Counties, and managed health centers, programs, and clinics that met the needs of 1.2 million residents. Responsible for a $51 million budget, Dr. Audrey Arona ensured that services complied with applicable state and federal regulations. She capably managed pandemic health care response, earning state senate recognition for valiant public service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

For two decades, Dr. Arona led Preferred Women’s Healthcare, LLC, in Lawrenceville as a physician partner. Her primary areas of OBGYN care included cervical, ovarian, and breast cancer, benign breast disease, high-risk pregnancies, and menopause. She offered a full range of diagnostic tests, including biopsies, pap smears, and post-coital tests, and provided advanced obstetric/gynecologic surgery services. Dr. Arona’s leadership responsibilities included administrative duties, including creating an office employee handbook and office policy manual that applied to 30 to 40 personnel.

Dr. Audrey Arona has an entrepreneurial background that includes launching a pair of successful startups in the vaginal rejuvenation and weight loss clinic sphere. She has a patent pending for a medical solution, and has received a patent on a medical device.
